Black and White Wednesday - A Culinary Gallery - Week # 9
It's been another wonderful week of stunning photos: artistic, fun, clever, tantalizing, and just plain beautiful. And they are all thanks to you. There's still some time to join in to be included in today's gallery. Here are the details for participation. Organizing this event has been like that box of chocolates which Forrest Gump asserts that you never know what you're going to get. I never do and I am always delighted by the surprises. Why don't you have a look to check out the contributions which I've been enjoying sneak peaks at all day. Thanks so much. If there are more photos to come within the next two hours, they will be represented here; otherwise, enjoy the rest of your days or evenings. Thanks again for your great work. See you later!

Each series is getting better than the other. This is a collection of very very beautiful photographs and very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have to admit, my blandest of photos look good amidst a gallery of some brilliant B&W photographs, all thanks to your brilliant idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat entries. Sorry I missed this week, hope to be back next week.
ReplyDeleteIt just keeps getting better! I know I said it already but you are brilliant to have started this.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Soma's comment.
ReplyDeleteThe sign in your photo, Susan, is a bit baffling: were they selling zeppole or is that the name of the truck?
some gorgeous shots and some very inspiring ones! thanks for yet another wonderful round-up, Susan :)
ReplyDeleteThat title for your photo - Street Fair Fat Food - made me laugh, must go look up Zeppoli. Lots of great photos, blogs being discovered - thanks, Susan.
ReplyDeleteGreat clicks and roundup! I really love your picture. Lovely light.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rosa
Just fabulous culinary street and still life black and white photography. With the color not there to distract, the subjects shine.
ReplyDeleteSoma - I know what you mean. It does keep getting better and better, yet they were good right at the get go.
ReplyDeleteJaya - I just want to pinch those little modaks...and eat them, too.
Thanks, Barbara. There's always next week.
Thanks, Elizabeth. Glad you've joined in.
Simona - They were selling zeppole, sausage and peppers, funnel cakes, and all the other foods that deliciously make the air smell alluring. There were many fried-food concessions, but this one had the most sophisticated set up. Luckily, we went after lunch, so we weren't tempted - because you know zeppole are like potato chips. I'd like to make my own someday.
Thanks, Sia.
Sra - You can not go strolling through an American street fair without being lured by everything to destroy your diet. We walked down a little farther through a cloud of smoke from a mass grilling of burgers. Zeppole are these adorable little pieces of deep-fried dough, dusted with powdered sugar. They are a more rustic version of donut holes.
Thanks, Rosa. The light was generally good that day, no full sun.
Lynne - You are so right. Color can certainly distract. I shoot predominantly in color (as most of us do), but there is a certain calm and order in black and white.
I agree with all of you, and I feel honored being among such talent photographers.
ReplyDeleteThank you and specially you Susan, for this creative idea.
